Up for sale 1963 VW Bus Split Window Camper
This awesome rare vintage campervan made by EZ-Camper based on 1963 VW Bus Split Window, interesting rare model with double door format.1963 SPLIT WINDOW BUS DOUBLE DOOR CAMPER. $17,900 o.b.o.
Rare EZ-Camper double door camper conversion. The body is in very good almost completely rust free condition, which makes this a great car for an easy restoration or daily driver the way it is. Engine is rebuilt and brakes work well. Please find detailed description below and see photos for all details. Clean title.
Body
The body is compared to buses of this era in really good condition. This car is almost rust free (only some slight surface rust). Only known area with rust is the floorboard (front left). Replacement floorboard comes with the bus.1963 was the last year with the small rear window. Original color ruby red is present on dashboard and certain other areas. Please see all photos for details.
Bumpers
Has original bumpers in good condition. These are expensive and hard to find all complete.
Windows
Split windows in front and small rear window are in great shape and rubbers are good. Windows in side doors are in good shape as well. Camper windows are good. These are pretty hard to find. I have a few replacement windows and frames that would come with the bus.
Interior
Front bench has new upholstery. I have the sink and the small camping table. Right now the bus has a wooden bench and a unfinished bed construction. I have the matching fabric for the bed and the center bench that would come with bus. The bus is very dry inside and there is no rust present.
Engine
1600 engine was currently serviced and partly rebuilt. The following work was done or new parts installed:
- Engine tune up including oil change. Engine was disassembled, cleaned, serviced and many parts were replaced.
- New spark plugs installed
- New push up rods installed
- New gaskets installed
- New rings installed
- 2 heads replaced
- New battery installed
- New carburetor installed
Engine fires up right away and runs great.
Transmission
Transmission shifts very smoothly. All gears go in easily and stay in gear.
Brakes
Brakes are good and work well.
